Our Christmas Letter to President and Sister Mecham

"December 23, 2012

Dear President and Sister Mecham:

I am wishing I had written earlier, but I wanted to write at Christmas and express my sincere gratitude for the tender care you have shown Eric. When we sent our son out to the far unknown, we prayed that there would be people in place to welcome and care for him as their own. Eric tells me you have done just that. As we have struggled with health and the resulting financial difficulties, we are comforted with the knowledge that Eric is exactly where he is supposed to be. We know you have been a leader and dear friend to him as he has had times where he has worried over us at home. We know you have personally prayed for us and put our names in the Temple. Than you so much for your love and support. It has been a challenge to endure cancer treatments and be without the love and companionship of Eric - he has left a huge hole in our family. But he has had our constant unwaivering support to serve the best mission he can and with the loving guidance provided to him we believe he is putting forth his best effort. He says you make him want to be his best - every parent's wish to hear. Know that we are honestly grateful for the extra effort you have given to Eric and our family. May you be blessed with every good thing for your faithful service. Sending our love from Arizona.

Merry Christmas.
